1. Introduction to Centrifugal Spray Dryer
Spray drying is a liquid process forming process widely used in industrial dehydration. It is suitable for generating powdered and granular solid products from solutions, emulsions, suspensions and paste-like liquid materials. Therefore, when the particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density and particle shape of the finished product must meet the standards, spray drying is an ideal drying process.
2. Equipment composition
This machine is mainly composed of blower, heating device, quantitative feeder, dehydrating tower, centrifugal atomizer, collector (cyclone collector and bag filter), discharger, air supply pipeline, induced draft fan and electrical control cabinet, etc.
3. Working principle
Filtered and heated air enters the air distributor at the top of the dryer. The hot air evenly enters the drying chamber in a spiral shape. The liquid material is transformed into extremely fine mist liquid beads through the high-speed centrifugal atomizer at the top of the tower. It can be dehydrated into finished products in a very short time by co-flow contact with the hot air. The finished products are continuously output from the bottom of the drying tower and the cyclone separator and the exhaust gas is emptied by the fan. The tail gas can be washed with water or collected by a bag filter according to the characteristics of the material. Centrifugal spray drying has a fast speed for the great increase of the surface area of the liquid material after atomization. 95%-98% of the water can be evaporated instantly in the hot air flow within several seconds. It is particularly suitable for dehydrating heat-sensitive materials. The processed product has good uniformity, fluidity and solubility, high purity and good performance. The production process is simplified, and the operation is convenient. Liquid materials with a moisture content of 40-60% (up to 90% for special materials) can be dried into powder at one time. After dehydrating, there is no need for crushing and screening, which reduces production processes and improves product purity. The particle size, bulk density and moisture of the product can be adjusted within a certain range by changing the operating conditions, which makes control and management very convenient.
